The Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) allows international students who have recently graduated from an Australian educational institution to live, study, and work in Australia temporarily after completing their studies. It provides full work rights and serves as a pathway to skilled migration.

Eligibility Requirements

Be under 35 years of age at time of application (changed in 2025)

Completed at least 2 years of study in Australia on a student visa

English proficiency: IELTS 6.5 overall (or equivalent in PTE, TOEFL)

Apply within 6 months of course completion

Hold adequate health insurance

Meet health and character requirements

Qualification must be from a registered Australian institution
