The Student visa (subclass 500) allows international students to undertake full-time study at a registered Australian educational institution. It includes work rights and can serve as a pathway to skilled migration after graduation through post-study work visas.

Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from an Australian institution

Meet the Genuine Student (GS) requirement (replaced GTE in March 2024)

Demonstrate financial capacity: AUD $29,710/year for living expenses + tuition fees + travel

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire stay

English language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or equivalent)

Meet health and character requirements

Valid passport

Answer specific questions in the visa application about your study intentions
